UA Wellness Program

The Wellness Program is available to any employee on a UA Choice Premium, Basic, or HDHP with Optional HSA Medical Plan. The Wellness Program encourages healthy behaviors through a point-based system that allows employees and their spouses/FIPs to qualify for a $600 health care rebate each.

Benefit-eligible Employees
Benefit-eligible employees who will be working a minimum of 20 hours per week.


Temporary Employees / Sikuliaq Employees
Temporary employees are not eligible to participate. 


Dependents
A spouse/FIP can participate as long as they are enrolled in a UA Choice medical plan with an employee. Children are not eligible to participate. 

No Enrollment Necessary
This program is voluntary and available to all employees and their spouses/FIPs if on a UA Choice Medical Plan. Simply log in and start earning points!

How to Earn Points
Once logged in to the wellness website, complete activities to earn points. Remember there are certain activities that are required each year. These required activities must be completed each year to be eligible for the rebate - even if the 8 point total is met without the required activities. Employees and spouses/FIPs must earn their own individual points to qualify for the rebate. 
Points must be earned on or before June 30 of each year.

Required Points
Employees must earn 8 points total (the two required activities above and 6 additional points). Spouse/FIPs must earn their own 8 points total (the two required activities above and 6 additional points)

Points for Dental and Vision Exams
In order to receive points for Dental and/or Vision exams, participants must be enrolled in a UA Choice Dental or Vision plan. If participants are enrolled in a plan outside of UA, they will not be able to earn points for these visits.


Required Activities
There are two required activities that must be completed by the employee and spouse/FIP each year (1) Health Risk Assessment and a (2) Biometric Screening.


Order a Biometric Home Test Kit
To order a biometric home test kit, log into the PreventionCloud portal and

    1. Select "Events" on the left side of the screen
    2. Click "Join" for "Biometric Screening Home Test Kits"
    3. Choose "Order test kit" and fill out the required information
A test kit will be sent to the address submitted. Follow the instructions included in the kit to secure the sample (a finger stick is required to obtain a sample).  Place the sample in the provided envelope and return via the mail. There is no shipping charge to receive or return the samples. Home test kits can be ordered up until May 31 and must be returned no later than June 10 to receive credit for this program year. 

Register for the wellness challenges by

  1. Logging into the PreventionCloud portal
  2. Go to "Challenges"
  3. Select "Join Challenge"
  4. Register for the current challenge

Challenge 1 | 150,000 Activity Points (July 1 - June 30, 2024)
Sync fitness devices on PreventionCloud. Individuals  who complete a total of 150,000 steps in a calendar month will earn activity points for that month. 

Challenge 2 | Stretching Challenge (October 2 - October 29, 2023)
Most of us know that stretching is good before and after exercising but stretching should not be limited to the gym. Stretching while at work reduces the risk of musculoskeletal injuries by improving muscular balance, posture, and coordination. For this challenge, employees will need to participate in the stretch of the week while at work and check in on the portal to track participation. 

Challenge 3 | Healthy Holidays Challenge (November 21 - January 5, 2024)
The goal of this challenge is  to concentrate and maintain weight during the holiday season, while practicing healthy habits. Log and track weight  throughout the entire challenge.

Challenge 4 | Musculoskeletal Challenge  (April 8 - May 5, 2024)
Musculoskeletal health is the health of our muscles, bones, joints, ligaments, an tendons. Complete this 4-week challenge by completing at least 3 daily tasks each week. Learn about proper lifting, ergonomics, strength training, flexibility and safety. 

Employee - requirements for receiving a rebate
To be eligible for the rebate, employees must be able to answer "yes" to all of the following questions each November when the rebate is rewarded. 

  1. I have completed the wellness program - including all required activities and additional points.
  2. I am a current, benefit-eligible employee during the pay period that the rebate is being awarded.
  3. I am enrolled in a medical plan (Premium, Basic, or HDHP) during the pay period that the rebate is being awarded.​

Spouse/FIP - requirements for receiving a rebate
To be eligible for the rebate, spouses/FIPs must be able to answer "yes" to all of the following questions each November when the rebate is rewarded. 

  1. I have completed the wellness program - including all required activities and additional points.
  2. My spouse/FIP is a current, benefit-eligible employee during the pay period that the rebate is being awarded.
  3. I am enrolled in a medical plan (Premium, Basic, or HDHP) with my spouse/FIP during the pay period that the rebate is being awarded.​

Employees and spouses/FIPs enrolled in a dental and/or vision plan ONLY
Employees who are not enrolled in a medical plan (Premium, Basic, or HDHP) are not eligible to participate in the program or receive a rebate.
