Why life insurance matters

What is life insurance? | Resource
Life insurance helps your loved ones meet financial obligations in the event of an untimely death including, but not limited to, final expenses, student loans, mortgages, caring for surviving spouse/children, etc.

UA paid basic life insurance | Resource
All benefit-eligible employees are provided with $100,000 of basic life insurance. This is provided at no cost to the employee. Additional life insurance is available for purchase if benefit-eligible employees need additional coverage. This is called "supplemental life insurance."

Note: since it is above the $50,000 threshold set by the IRS, there are tax implications. Review our basic life insurance webpage for more information.

Supplemental life insurance | Resource
All benefit-eligible employees can purchase additional life insurance. Supplemental life insurance can be purchased to cover the employee, a spouse/FIP, and/or children. There is a guaranteed issue amount where no medical information is necessary. Anything over the guaranteed issue would require Evidence of Insurability (EOI).
