Preventive Benefits - Do you know what's covered?
What is preventive care?
Preventive visits are covered at 100% on all UA Choice medical plans. This means there
is no out-of-pocket costs to the employee or their covered dependents for these visits.
Preventive visits can even go beyond general wellness exams and vaccines and can include
blood pressure screenings, breast cancer and colon cancer screenings, tobacco cessation,
birth control and family planning, and more. Review Premera’s preventive screenings list to get a bigger picture.
Can you get any preventive screening you'd like as long as it's listed on Premera’s preventive screenings list?
No. Some preventive visits can vary depending on age, sex, and risk. When in doubt,
ask your provider or reach out to TouchCare or review Premera's preventive screening tip sheet.

If you are unsure about your appointment or even where to start with scheduling preventive

Received a bill for preventive services that you believe is incorrect?
If you went for a preventive care visit and ended up with a bill afterward, reach
out to TouchCare. TouchCare can work with the provider/billing department directly to ensure that
the visit was coded correctly as preventive and have any misrepresentations corrected
on your behalf. Remember - even if you go for a preventive visit, you may still end
up with a diagnostic visit depending on what was discussed at the appointment and
if services went beyond basic preventive care.
