The Alaska 529 Plan is a versatile education savings account that can be used for qualified expenses at nearly all colleges, universities and technical schools nationwide. It can also be used for K-12 tuition.

  • The plan helps thousands of Alaskans save for future education expenses; many of whom enroll at UA.

  • All UA employees can open and contribute to Alaska 529 accounts using payroll deduction.

  • UA employees will continue to have the added benefit of the Alaska 529 team located at the University of Alaska in the Butrovich Building on the Fairbanks campus and in the Bragaw Building in Anchorage.

  • Employees can walk-in, call, Zoom, or schedule a speaker for a department staff meeting.
