University mascots promoting Giving Day

Jan. 19, 2023 - The university system is gearing up for the third annual UA Giving Day - 49 Hours for Alaska, taking place February 22 - 23, and Giving Day Champions are essential in the campaign’s success in raising funds to support programs, research and students.

When you sign up to be a Giving Day Champion, you are provided a unique URL to share broadly in your network to encourage participation. A real-time dashboard shows you how many in your network click your link to learn more about UA Giving Day, and how much your friends, family and connections contribute.

The UA Giving Day Champion toolkit provides easy, step-by-step instructions, and UAA, UAF and UAS provide additional resources specifically for champions.

A powerful way to help spread the word about UA Giving Day is to share on social media. On Facebook, click on UAA, UAF and UAS Giving Day events, indicate you are “Going” to the event, invite your friends, and share in your feed with a personal message. In email or on other platforms, share your Champion URL or direct people to the main Giving Day website

UA Giving Day - 49 Hours for Alaska comprises three universities and one amplified message about the power of giving to support education, students and Alaska’s future.  Last year, UA Giving Day raised $1.06 million in support of 230 funds that support programs, projects, schools, research and scholarships. Gifts were received from 1,680 donors from 42 states and 12 countries.
