    Greetings from Staff Alliance, We want to take a moment to thank each of you for your hard work and dedication to the University of Alaska. For all of us throughout the university, this summer will be far from normal. As you are no doubt aware, we are simultaneously navigating continued budget cuts and the COVID-19 pandemic. This has resulted in a drive for transformational change planning.

  • University of Alaska Board of Regents to discuss FY21 budget options during its June 5-6 meeting, host public testimony on June 2

    The University of Alaska Board of Regents will discuss the university's options to close the FY21 budget gap at its June 5-6 full board meeting. The university faces significant financial constraints brought on by state budget cuts, enrollment declines and economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. During the meeting, President Johnsen will present cost-saving options that have been reviewed by the university's leadership as well as business and academic councils.

  • All Butrovich Building conference rooms closed

    Per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance for Institutes of Higher Education, all conference rooms in the Butrovich building have been sanitized and are off limits for use at this time.

    OIT announces the arrival of webcams and headsets for students, staff, and faculty who may be in need while working away from the office. Webcams are available for loan and will need to be returned when they are no longer needed. Headsets may be kept, free of charge, by the user.

  • 2020 Summer Flex Hour Schedules

    During the months of June, July, and August 2020, Statewide (SW) office exempt and non-exempt employees are permitted, with supervisor approval, to work flex schedule hours. Should an employee work a flex schedule, please make sure there is no detriment to the department's services or standard university hours of operation (Monday-Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.). Schedule changes may be suspended or canceled with or without advance notice to the employee if warranted by university needs. Supervisors are requested to ensure that overtime eligible (non-exempt) employees are not regularly scheduled to work more than 40 hours in a single workweek unless their overtime is approved.
