Safe service options at OIT

OIT’s service desk has implemented several new processes to help support campuswide health and safety measures this fall.

In addition to wearing masks when more than one person is in the office, OIT service technicians are staggering their in-office work schedules to provide adequate physical distancing for everyone.

Beginning Sept. 6, service desk walk-in customers will be asked to book appointments online before arrival. This provides minimal wait time for customers and, in the event of a COVID-19 outbreak, will facilitate easier contact tracing.  

Computers and equipment in need of repair are sanitized with Clorox wipes upon arrival and again before pickup. Repair pickups have moved to the OIT service desk location and are also scheduled using an online scheduler for repair pickups.

For customers who would rather receive technology help from their dorm room, office or home, online self service options are available, along with the OIT chat line that is open during business hours.

  • Monday-Friday: 7:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday-Sunday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Hours — Walk-in support

  • Monday-Friday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Saturday-Sunday: 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
