Webinar: Cybersecurity Awareness Month (CAM) 2022 Kick Off

September 30. 2022

Please join the UA Security Matters team on October 3rd for their presentation Introduction to Data Privacy, the first in a series of security awareness webinars this October. This presentation introduces several data privacy concepts, including components and principles of data privacy, the challenge of protecting data from cybercrime and insider threats, differences between data privacy and data security, as well as different technologies used. This webinar will be offered via Zoom and requires you to be signed in with your University of Alaska account to attend.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month (CAM) – observed every October – was created as a collaborative effort between government and industry to ensure every American has the resources they need to stay safer and more secure online.

This year’s theme is “See Yourself in Cyber.” UA Security Matters will be hosting a series of Zoom presentations, online scavenger hunts and game shows, as well as hosting a poster and video contest. Returning this year is the Leaderboard, where you can earn points for participation for yourself and your department, organization or group!

Up-to-date information on CAM events can be found on their web page, https://alaska.edu/securitymatters/cam/. The UA Security Matters web page is also a great place to find recent security news, tips and guides, outreach materials and links to security training videos.
