New Arctic Engagement Award Recipients Announced

Four proposals from across the UA system will receive Arctic Engagement Award funding as UA launches the Arctic Leadership Initiative. Proposals were ranked on their potential to expand UA's Arctic engagement and visibility, increase the impact of UA's Arctic activities, elevate UA's competitive position, and generate new partnerships and funding. Awards ranged from $18,000 to $20,000.

Federal injunction delays implementation of Title IX Final Rule in Alaska

In early July, a federal judge temporarily blocked the Biden administration's 2024 Title IX final rule from going into effect in four states, including Alaska. This makes 14 states where the final rule is now on hold by judicial order.

The University of Alaska system's FY25 Budget has been signed by Governor Dunleavy. The enacted state appropriation for UA is just over $331.3 million; combined with federal receipts and other revenues, UA's total FY25 operating budget stands at just under $934.5 million.
