Public Notice of Intent to Sell Multiple Parcels of University of Alaska Land

The University of Alaska Land Management Office (UALM) is seeking public comment on the attached disposal plan to sell land.  All parcels will be sold at or above fair market value. 

 Parties interested in commenting on this proposed disposal plan must submit written comments to UALM by fax at (907)786-7733, email at ua-land@alaska.edu, or letter mailed to either address listed below by no later than 5:00 P.M. on May 16, 2024, to be considered. 

Development & Disposal Plan

The University of Alaska (“University”) intends to offer several parcels of land for sale at or above fair market value.  The parcels are located throughout the state of Alaska.  The parcels are rural and include parcels that may not have constructed road access.   

The standard documents that will be used to close sales in this offering are available for review at www.alaska.edu/ualand. 

 This disposal plan is effective as long as the University owns the parcels.

Parcel Description: 

This is a 10.655 acre parcel of donated land along Willow Creek in the Hatcher’s Pass area.  

There is no legal access to the Parcel.  The State of Alaska granted a 60-foot right-of-way (see Appendix 2 for unapproved Plat of Burrows’ Property depicting ADL 57723) for the construction of a road from Purches Creek Trailhead, approximately 14.7 miles from the Parks Highway where Willow Fishhook Road crosses Willow Creek, to a parcel just to the north of the DeLapp Parcel.  Since there is no right-of-way or easement from the end of ADL 57723 to the Parcel, access along the final ~100 ft. is dependent on State of Alaska Generally Allowed Uses (see attached access map).  ADL 57723 is partially constructed with a poorly maintained ATV trail present along approximately 1.1 miles of its 1.33-mile total length.

This is a 1.250 acre parcel of donated land located near Salcha, Alaska, (approximately mile post 320, Richardson Highway) on the east side of Harding Lake. The parcel is situated on Salcha Drive opposite Harding Lake Access is legal and constructed via Salcha Drive. 

Survey Information or MTRS:  Lot 44, U.S. Survey No. 3209, Alaska, according to the plat accepted by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management, in Washington D.C., on December 23, 1953.

This is a 5.660 acre parcel of donated land located near Haines, Alaska. Access to the parcel is via the Haines Highway at approximately mile post 30.

This area is locatable on USGS quadrangles Seward, AK (1:250,000), Seward D-4, AK (1:63,360), and Seward D-4 SW, AK (1:24,000). TVE is a subdivision of Secs. 32 and 33, T. 9 N., R. 6 E., S.M.
