Land Use Application Form
Land Use Application for the Use of University Property
The University of Alaska, through its Land Management office, authorizes requests for the use of University land when the proposed use is consistent with the guidelines for prudent management, including trust management, and use of all University real property, as defined in Board of Regents’ Policy 05.11 – Real Property.
To submit a new request or a modification/amendment to an existing authorization,
please complete the following Land Use Application and submit the applicable non-refundable
administrative fee. The non-refundable administrative fee is $750 for a new request,
and $500 for a modification or amendment to an existing authorization. The review
process for each request will begin only after Land Management has received both the
completed application and the applicable non-refundable administrative fee.
-
Approved applications will be subject to a separate land use fee, which will be determined based on the type and scope of the proposed use or activity on University land.
-
The University, in its sole discretion, may accept or reject any application for use of University land at any time prior to execution of a land use authorization. All administrative fees are non-refundable, and the University will not reimburse any expenses incurred in the preparation or submission of an application.
-
Casual use of University property does not require authorization, per Board of Regents’ Policy 05.11.044.F. Examples of casual use include, but are not limited to, an individual hiking, picnicking, cross-country skiing, or berry picking. If you are unsure whether your proposed activity qualifies as casual use, please CONTACT US.
-
Submission of this application does not constitute permission to use University land. Written authorization, such as an executed land use permit issued by the University, is required prior to any entry onto University property, with the exception of casual use.
