Arctic Leadership: Theory and Praxis

Arctic Leadership: Theory and Praxis in the 21st Century (PS/ACNS F416/F616) is a UAF course in political science and Arctic and Northern Studies, taught by Dr. Amy Lauren Lovecraft. It meets online on Thursday evenings. Each week opens with a public guest lecture and continues with a discussion for enrolled students.

ALI Student Cohort members can take the course for credit with a UA Foundation scholarship covering the cost of the course. Questions about program benefits go to ua-ali-info@alaska.edu.


Public guest lectures, fall 2026

Guest lectures are free and open to anyone. They run Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Alaska time on Zoom. Each guest talks about the path that led to their role, what makes leadership in Alaska and the Arctic distinct, and the challenges they are working on now.
