New chapters
Chapter benefits for districts

How to start a chapter
- Identify a certified teacher who can serve as the chapter’s advisor (teacher leader).
- Before registering nationally, email us so we can support your launch and provide access to our curriculum, professional development, and student fee waivers.
- The teacher leader signs up at Educators Rising national portal, selecting “Teacher Leader” and linking to the school.
- Students create accounts, select their school, and choose “Bill Me” at checkout. With the promotion code provided by Educators Rising Alaska, their $15 fee will be covered.
Teacher leaders receive full curriculum access, competition guides, and classroom
resources through both national and Alaska-specific platforms.
- Host regular meetings, prepare for competitions, attend state and national conferences, and build a vibrant chapter culture.
- Join statewide teacher leader meetings, access professional development opportunities, and get support throughout the year from our statewide Educators Rising Alaska team.
Educators Rising Alaska welcomes homeschool students! We already have a designated
homeschool group at the national level, making it simple for families to participate.
To get started, email us so we can connect you with the group and provide access to curriculum, professional
development, and student fee waivers.

Growing your chapter
-
Partner with your colleagues and/or neighbor schools so students can observe teachers in action! Use quick reflection prompts to guide learning and build insight into the profession. (available on Teacher Leader Resources page)
-
Invite your students to teach short lessons to younger grades. It’s fun, confidence-boosting, and shows others what Educators Rising Alaska is all about!
- Connect with other Alaska chapters for virtual projects, shared lessons, or peer feedback. Builds community and fresh perspective.
- Let students share their learning at staff meetings or in school newsletters. It highlights growth and inspires new members.
- Bring in other educators and community leaders to share their teaching journeys. It sparks passion and opens students’ eyes to varied paths into education.
