Kim was released from the Bering Strait School District (BSSD). She mentors in schools in the BSSD as well as the Northwest Arctic Borough School District. Her experience in teaching includes twelve years teaching science and other subjects in grades 9-12 in Nebraska in both rural and urban settings, and 3 years teaching science and reading in a K-12 school Elim, Alaska.
