Georgia Tompkins

2022 - to Present

Georgia retired from the Mat-Su district in 2022. She taught geology at Mat-Su College and UAA as well as 2nd grade in Palmer before joining 3 others to found one of the first charter schools in Alaska. For 23 years she taught science labs to students from kindergarten through eighth grade and Algebra 1 as a math and science specialist at the charter school. She has a BS in Natural Science, BEd in elementary education, and a MS in Science Education. Her teaching philosophy promotes self-efficacy to encourage success and confidence in learning.
