The second phase of Alaska EPSCoR, from 2004-2007, continued and modified three of the initial research focus areas:
The 56 faculty members in this phase, including Regional Resilience and Adaptation faculty, received over 110 federal, state and private awards for a total of more than $29 million and published over 175 refereed articles
i.) Cold Regions Engineering,The Regional Resilience and Adaptation supplement became a developmental research focus in this phase, and the core support in Bioinformatics continued.
ii.) Integrative Approaches to Environmental Physiology
iii.) Population Genetics of Adaptation to Arctic Environments.
