UA Scholars Award Recognition Events

Let's celebrate your success together. 

Join faculty, staff, students, and fellow UA Scholars for an evening celebrating your achievements, mingling, and learning about the opportunities available to you in the University of Alaska system. Family and friends are welcome to attend the celebration.

Dress for photos! You will have your photo taken on stage with university leaders.

Who Should RSVP?
Scholars need to RSVP so we know to recognize you! There is space to add an estimated number of family and friends who will be joining you. 

We invite all community members and school staff to join us for this special event! Your presence will make the occasion even more meaningful. No RSVP is needed. Just come and enjoy the celebration with us!

Please plan to check in at least 30 minutes before the start time.

Recognition Event FAQ’s

  • What can I expect during the event?

    • Doors will open 30 minutes before the program begins. The event will last about an hour and include an overview of the UA Scholars Award, a keynote address, and remarks from current UA Scholars sharing their experiences. The celebration will continue as the Scholars cross the stage to be recognized and photographed. A reception will follow, featuring representatives from UA campuses and degree programs available to discuss opportunities and answer questions.

  • Will there be food served?

    • Light appetizers will be available after the program.

  • Is there airfare assistance available to attend one of the events?

    • Unfortunately, there is not. 

  • Do I have to attend to receive the scholarship?

    • No. We understand you may not be able to attend. To secure your UA Scholars Award and access all the benefits of the title, apply for admission to the UA campus of your choice by the preferred deadline of June 30.

    • Your application is FREE when you use the waiver code found in your Award letter.

    • Please note: Failure to apply by the final deadline of August 15, will result in the Award expiring.

  • Can I attend if I don't plan to go to UA?

    • Yes! Please come and let us celebrate your accomplishment as a UA Scholar.

  • Do I have to pay for parking?

    • No. Parking is free in designated lots (details in your RSVP).

  • How should I dress?

    • We recommend dressing up to celebrate this occasion. Scholars will get their photos taken as they cross the stage, and there will be a photobooth afterward for family photos.

  • I can't make it. Is there a live stream? 

    • Yes. More information on this option will be announced this fall.
