On June 28, Angela Lunda, Ph.D., became permanent dean of the School of Education at the University of Alaska Southeast. Angie has nearly four decades of classroom and administrative experience in secondary and post-secondary education. She joined the UAS faculty in 2014 and quickly distinguished herself as a teacher-scholar, leading two NSF grants that examined children's environmental and cultural identities. She is passionate about ensuring that all students receive an equitable, quality education in a culturally safe and nurturing environment. In her new role as dean, Angie is excited to continue to find innovative ways to support new teachers and administrators in their development as culturally responsive educators.
