The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce’s 65th Annual Gold Pan Awards “Met Gala: Art of our Community” was held on Friday, November 18, 2022, at the Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center. Chamber members and community leaders participated in a silent auction hosted by Alaska Premier Auctions & Appraisals; games of giving for prizes like two roundtrip tickets on Alaska Airlines, tickets to Homer via Ravn Alaska, and snowshoeing excursions with Go Hike Alaska; photo ops courtesy of Photo Emporium Alaska; and various food stations. Proceeds from the games go to foster future Anchorage Chamber events and programs.

In line with this year’s Met Gala theme, guests viewed local art displayed by Brian Martin, Carlos Pereira Art, Denielle Baldwin, Marissa Amor, Mike McArdle, Lake Hood Life, and Young Kim. Works included many mediums from acrylic and archival pigment prints, oil paintings, and metal prints to photography.

Thank you to Sophie Minich, CIRI’s President & CEO, for the evening’s land acknowledgment, and to the 2021 Gold Pan Award winners, Alaska Disinfection Services, Anchorage Downtown Partnership Ltd., Channel 2 & CBS 5, and Matson for attending and introducing the 2023 finalists seen below.
