Oct. 31 Title IX training deadline approaching

The University of Alaska is committed to providing a safe and respectful educational environment free from discrimination on the basis of sex, as required by Title IX. UA Safe Title IX Training is mandatory for all University of Alaska employees and must be completed by October 31, 2021.

You will continue to receive reminder emails until you complete your training.

We want you to know that:

  2. Incidents can be reported to your university’s Equity and Compliance department (listed below) or online reporting portal.  University of Alaska takes immediate, effective, and appropriate action to respond to reported acts of discrimination and harassment.

  4. The rules of University of Alaska (UA) apply at all university owned or operated sites, university sanctioned events, clinical sites and during all academic or research related travel that are university sponsored.

Inquiries about the application of Title IX to UA may be referred to one of the university's Title IX Coordinators, the Assistant U.S. Secretary for Education, or both.  

UA Board of Regents’ Policy and Regulation Chapter 01.04 defines prohibited behavior and details the administrative grievance procedures and grievance process for inquiries, investigations, hearings, and appeals which apply when prohibited behavior is alleged to have occurred.
