Some reminders for students who have already taken the test:
You may retake the placement assessment up to four times. Unlike the SAT or ACT, you cannot improve your results by simply re-taking the assessment without spending time in the Prep and Learning Module to refresh material that you may have forgotten or to learn new material. In fact, you are required to spend 3 hours in the Prep and Learning module before the second attempt, and 5 hours before subsequent attempts.
If a previous UAF Math Placement score resulted in a higher UAF math placement, the system will keep the higher score. Assessment scores are valid for one year.
Roughly speaking, you have at least 5 months to start your learning module and be able to take advantage of the full 6 week learning module, and as many as 10 months. Why the range? There are two enrollment periods for the placement test, and the available time is determined by the beginning of the enrollment period.
