21 alaska.edu emails found in ProctorU data breach

In June 2020, the online exam service ProctorU suffered a data breach which was subsequently shared extensively across online hacking communities. The breach contained 444k user records including names, email and physical addresses, phones numbers and passwords stored as bcrypt hashes.

Among those email address were 21 University of Alaska emails. Visit HaveIBeenPwned to see if your email has been involved in this (or any other) breach.

You can minimize the risk to your accounts by avoiding using the same login and password combination for multiple sites.  Using long and unique passwords for each account helps protect you and the university in the case of a breach.
