"Did You Know" series highlights UA successes

Earlier this fall, the University of Alaska launched a series called “Did You Know?”. The series is designed to better inform Alaskans about the critical role the university system plays in economic development and to highlight people who contribute to Alaska’s vibrant economy. The series shines a spotlight on the successes of alumni and programs across the UA system.

Since its launch, programs and alumni from across the state and our three universities have been featured in these bi-weekly newsletters to the Board of Regents and university leadership. These programs and alumni exemplify the great mission of UA to support and drive higher education, ingenuity and economic advancement in the state of Alaska.

Industries and programs from construction to social services have been highlighted, as have alum and instructors from UAA, UAF and UAS.

In the most recent Holiday edition, UAS’ Construction program’s role in building homes for those in need exhibited UA’s greater goal of giving back to our communities, UAF’s Veterinary Medicine collaborative program with Colorado State University showcased how Alaska students return to their home state with new skills to join the workforce and serve our communities and a UAA alum spotlight highlighted contributions to social services in high demand especially during the pandemic.
