Source-to-Pay project update: Building the foundation
April 17. 2026
The following is an update from UA Procurement & Contract Services.
We are pleased to share a brief update on the University of Alaska's Source-to-Pay project. The project is on schedule and progressing as expected.
Where we are
We are currently in the early stage of building and configuring UA's Source-to-Pay system. This work focuses on setting up a baseline structure for purchasing, accounts payable, sourcing, supplier management and contracts so the system reflects UA's policies, compliance needs and general business requirements.
At this phase, the project team is establishing initial designs and workflows, not final decisions. The goal is to create a solid foundation that will be refined with broader input as we move forward.
What's coming next
Over the next several months, we'll continue configuring the system and preparing for testing. As we move past fiscal year-end and into later summer, we'll begin inviting feedback from campuses and functional areas to help validate workflows, reports and user experience.
When we'll ask for help
Many staff have already volunteered to support this effort, and we greatly appreciate that. We do not expect to need significant participation until after fiscal year-end, with outreach to volunteers beginning later this summer. Clear guidance and timelines will be provided so feedback can be incorporated at the right points in the project.
Looking ahead
The Source-to-Pay project is a major step toward improving how we buy, pay and work with suppliers across UA. We'll continue to share updates as the project progresses and as opportunities for input open up.
