UA Launches S2P modernization with strong systemwide kickoff
February 6, 2026
The University of Alaska officially launched its Source‑to‑Pay (S2P) Modernization Project this week with a successful systemwide kickoff meeting that drew more than 250 participants from across the system. Employees from academic units, research administration, facilities, IT, and administrative offices joined to learn more about UA’s future purchasing and payment environment.
During the event, attendees met members of the Procurement, Financial Systems, Accounts Payable, and Huron implementation teams, who walked through the project roadmap and introduced JAGGAER, the platform that will modernize UA’s sourcing, shopping, approvals, contracting, and invoice processing workflows. Presenters highlighted how the new system will reduce manual work, provide clearer visibility into order status, and create a more intuitive purchasing experience for users across the university.
The kickoff also generated significant excitement and early engagement. The project team announced that more than 30 employees have already volunteered to participate in design workshops, focus groups, and testing sessions—representing a wide range of units and roles across the system.
In response to the many questions raised during the meeting, the S2P website now includes an expanded and updated FAQ, covering topics such as workflow changes, vendor onboarding, support for rural Alaska suppliers, Banner integration, software renewals, AP processes, and more.
Employees are encouraged to visit the S2P project website to learn more, sign up as a volunteer, or submit questions and feedback as the project moves into its detailed design phase.
