Times for standing committee and full board meetings are subject to reordering by the Board within the August 14-16, 1996 timeframe.

Wednesday, August 14, 1996

1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. The Board of Regents will meet in an informal retreat to discuss issues of concern to the University of Alaska. 7:30 p.m. Sakhalin International Theatrical Chekhov Center will present "True West" by Sam Shepard at the Valdez Civic Center.

A welcoming reception will follow the play hosted by Prince William Sound Community College in honor of the Board of Regents, Arthur Miller and Inge Morath at the Valdez Museum, 217 Egan.

Thursday, August 15, 1996

8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. The Academic & Student Affairs Committee will meet. 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. The Finance, Facilities and Land Management Committee will meet. 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. The Human Resources Committee will meet. 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. TheCommittee of the Whole will meet. Lunch will be served at 12 noon to Board members and participating staff. 7:30 p.m. Eccentric Theatre Company will present "Zoo Story" by Edward Albee at the Valdez Civic Center.

After theater cocktails will follow the play in the Civic Center Ballroom with special entertainment by Kaitlin Hopkins.

Friday, August 16, 1996

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The Full Board will meet. The Board of Regents will hear public comment at 8:00 a.m. An Executive Session will start at 12 noon and is expected to last 2 hours. 7:30 p.m. TOAST Theater will present "The Last Yankee" and "I Can't Remember Anything" by Arthur Miller at the Valdez Civic Center.

After theater cocktails will follow the play at the home of Bill and Paula Newbold, 1217 Mineral Creek Place.

Saturday, August 17, 1996

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Theater workshops and a Stan Stephens Cruise are offered for Board member and staff enjoyment. 6:30 p.m. The Governor's Reception and Gala will be held in the Valdez Civic Center. BP Exploration presents "An Evening with Arthur Miller" and "A Walk Around Broadway," a musical presentation by Connie Barron. This event includes dinner.

An After Gala Reception will be held at the home of Joy and Burney Martin, 429 West Nabesna Street.
