For users new to the University, your account is created for you automatically. Visit ELMO to get your UA username and to set up your password to login.

If you are unable to login, view the Important Account Info page to determine your standing.

If you are unfamiliar with what we mean by your UAusername, it is essentially the initials of your First and Middle names combined with your full Last name (FMLast.)  There are some exceptions that include a number at the end (the number makes it unique when there are other persons with the same UAusername.) If you don't know what yours is, you can look it up online.

If you already have an existing UAF or Statewide email account, you can opt to use Google Apps @ UA by going through the Google Apps @ UA Sign Up form. Signing up sets the transition process in motion to migrate your existing UAF/Statewide account, to your new Google Apps @ UA account. All University of Alaska Fairbanks affiliated staff and faculty and Statewide staff are eligible to sign up to Google Apps @ UA, but only the email stored on OIT managed servers will be migrated.

By August 30th, all active UAF student email accounts will already be transitioned to Google Apps @ UA. Visit ELMO to set your password, and login to google.alaska.edu.

Cancelling your Google Apps @ UA account to revert back to your originally issued webmail mailbox is not an option. The Google Apps @ UA service is designed to provide improved services to students and is the default service for incoming students beginning the fall semester of 2009.

Due to technical reasons, OIT can not migrate your address book during your transition to Google Apps @ UA.
