Prior to this position with OIT, Kristin Elieff worked as an administrative assistant at Journey Christian Church, an assistant bookkeeper at Presbyterian Hospitality House, and office manager at Hope Counseling Center.

Elieff was born in Wisconsin, and escaped at 4 months old. Her family moved to Coldfoot, which is where she grew up.

She attended Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska; Edmonds Community College in Edmonds, Wash.; and UAF, where she received associate degrees in tourism and travel and in accounting.

She is married to James Elieff, Desktop Support Manager at UAF. They have three children--Tommy, Samantha and Cooper. Other hobbies are on hold until Elieff completes a bachelor's degree in accounting!

Debby Queen

Debby Queen is the new assistant to Chief Information Technology Officer Steve Smith. Prior to this position, she worked as a donor relations manager, KUAC executive assistant, and for Fairbanks Memorial Hospital.

Queen was born and raised in North Pole and attended North Pole schools through high school. She moved to Bozeman, Montana and attended college at Montana State University.

Queen enjoys biking, gardening, knitting and sitting down with a good book, but most importantly, spending time with her three great kids and wonderful husband.

Nathan Zierfuss

Nathan Zierfuss oversees information security policy and procedure development, and system-wide information security planning and coordination.

Prior to coming to statewide, Zierfuss worked as a HPC systems analyst focused on security and mass storage for the Arctic Region Supercomputing Center and at the Alaska Satellite Facility as a systems analyst.

Originally from the southern Wisconsin area, Zierfuss, whose father was in the Air Force, grew up around the world. He has lived in Alaska since 1985, with a brief hiatus. He studied at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and the University of Alaska Southeast, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and became a Certified Information Systems Security Professional.

He has a son and enjoys the outdoors.
