OIT's Spring Bulk Buy Event

 

The OIT FY23 Bulk Buy Computer Order purchase program runs each spring for several weeks.  UAF departments, UAF community campuses, and system office departments, located in Fairbanks and Anchorage, can order Dell computers, laptops and monitors at highly discounted prices.

  • Open to UAF MAU departments. *For business use only, no personal orders.*
  • Equipment will be ordered via Req/PO and encumbered/billed directly to the department’s fund/org.
  • No labor charge for individual standard computer imaging.
  • Fund/orgs must be provided at time of order.
  • Individuals placing orders are responsible for verifying their department’s fiscal technician’s approval.
  • Fund/orgs will be verified prior to order and checked for available budget. 
  • Equipment expected delivery to departments is May/June 2023. Due to manufacturing shipping restrictions, equipment delivery may be delayed until FY24.
  • No model substitutions available.
  • Depending on age of computer and/or monitor, additional video cables may be required.
  • Business Class computers that are built with higher quality components, expected to last five years or more.
  • Five-year labor and parts warranty included on Dell computers and monitors.
  • OIT’s Certified Technicians provide on-site service for computer support needs.
  • As an Authorized Tier 2 Dell Repair Facility, customers will not be charged for any warranty parts and labor, while most repair parts are received within 24-hours, minimizing downtime.

Year-Round Dell Laptop Discounts for Departments

Discounted pricing is typically available  year-round on OIT's recommended Dell laptop through the Bulk Buy program. Although OIT recommends planned purchases of computers during the annual Bulk Buy each spring,  there is a recognized need to purchase computers outside of the Bulk Buy window,  so OIT tries to  maintain a backstock on campus of pre-configured Dell laptops, allowing for minimal customer downtime.
