Amber Vinegar joined Audit and Consulting Services this month to provide support to the internal audit staff and to review operational efficiencies, compliance, data analysis, and process improvement.

Over the past five years Vinegar worked in both the public and private sectors. Her public service included assignments at the State Office of the Prosecuting Attorney and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Regional Counsel. She also worked at private firms specializing in criminal law, personal injury law and environmental litigation. Her most recent experience was in public service to support education at the Junior Achievement and with the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District.

Vinegar is from Fairbanks, Alaska. She lived here prior to attending college and came back within the past year and a half after living in the Northwest while taking classes.

Vinegar attended school in Washington and spent a year in Hawaii on exchange. She completed her bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in justice in 2012 at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and completed a master's in business administration with an emphasis in corporate training at Colorado Christian University in 2016.

In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, running, and cycling.
