University of Alaska PRESS

Friends of the Press

In 2007 the Friends of the University of Alaska Press was established to allow people to make tax-deductible gifts to the University of Alaska Press.

Like most university presses, UA Press publishes books for a variety of readers. Some of our most important books have too small an audience to cover their costs. Others need subsidies so that color illustrations and special features may be included. Support for these types of publications relies on book sales and generous gifts from individuals.

As a member of the Friends of the University of Alaska Press, you will receive the following benefits:
•    A 25% discount on all UA Press titles ordered within the first year of membership.
•    Invitations to author events in your area.
•    Two complimentary books from our complete catalog with a gift of $250 or more.

Your support will ensure that the UA Press continues to publish high quality books in anthropology, history, natural history, Native studies, languages and literature, exploration, circumpolar studies, wilderness studies, and the natural sciences, as well as books of interest to the state and region.

You may join the Friends of the University of Alaska Press by making a contribution online, by phone or through the mail. In each case please make sure to indicate your gift is for the Friends of the University of Alaska Press.
