Leadership Discussion with Fran Ulmer

Chancellor Fran Ulmer, a dynamic, highly regarded State leader, will be
visiting UAF on October 7th, and has set aside an hour to discuss leadership
issues with UAF students. We'll be meeting in the Alumni Lounge at 3 p.m.
for cookies and conversation with Fran.

UAF Leadership Conference, October 10th and 11th

The theme is Commit to Action.

We are very lucky to have two keynotes. At the Friday night event from 5-7:30
we will be enjoying ice cream sundaes, completing a service project and
listening to members from the amazing documentary "Invisible Children". This
documentary is about three college students who travel to Africa and stumble
across thousands of children who are so afraid of being kidnapped and forced
into child militaries that they walk to safe zones every night. It is an
extremely powerful presentation and we are excited to have this opportunity.

On Saturday the 11th our keynote speaker will be Matthew Segal from the
Students Association for Voter Empowerment, a national group dedicated to
getting to vote out among college students. The conference will also include
over 14 different workshops, food and prizes, including a Alaska Airlines
ticket. Registration for this conference is $10 for UA students and $20 for
non students.
