Welcome Math Students! You have come to the right place! Whether you are needing extra help with your math course, brushing up on math skills before taking a course, needing tips to deal with math anxiety, or just curious as to what resources are available, help is just a few clicks away! Also, the current semester math lab hours are posted at the Learning Center homepage.
The math courses offered by the Department of Developmental Education are developmentally taught to insure mastery of required skills. The courses require UAF approved placement test scores, or a grade of C or better in the prerequisite course, to determine the correct courses for enrollment. Contact the UAF Academic Advising Center or the Tanana Valley Campus for more information on placement testing and to speak with an advisor before registering for a math course.

In the meantime, here is something to ponder:
Q: “If it would take a cannonball 3 1/8 seconds to travel four miles, and 3 3/8 seconds to travel the next four, and 3 5/8 to travel the next four, and if its rate of progress continued to diminish in the same ratio, how long would it take to go fifteen hundred million miles?” A: “I don’t know.” (Mark Twain from Answers to Correspondents) |
