Petroleum Students Win at AADE Competition

I am happy to inform you that the two UAF student competitors at the just concluded AADE National Student Poster competition in New Orleans took the first and second place positions. There were nine student competitors from six different universities.

Kasper Kowalewski (a petroleum engineering senior) took the first place. His project is AADE Alaska Section mentored, led by Greg Hobbs (BP Alaska) and he worked on: "Arctic Well Design Sequence and Failure Prognosis: A Case Study".

Ekene Chukwu (a petroleum engineering graduate student) took the second place. His project is funded by a consortium of ConocoPhillips, BP Alaska, and Mi-Swaco, and he worked on: "Performance Evaluation of ANS CTD Bio-Polymer Drill-in-Fluid".

I thank AADE Alaska Section for sponsoring the five students that attended the conference, and for also providing funds for my hotel/lodging.
