The CEM Mining Engineering department recently sent six Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration (SME) students on its annual trip to the 2009 SME Annual Meeting, Exhibit, and National Western Mining Conference. The trip also included a number of tours, which included the Henderson Molybdenum Mine (Colorado), Peabody Energy's Twenty Mile Coal Mine (Colorado), AngloGold's Victor Gold Mine (Colorado) and Beacon Hill Underground Transit Station Site (Washington). Students James Frost, Jacob Kalmbacher, John King, Shelly Meyer, Dominic Orr, and Terry Taylor were led on this trip by mining professor Ted Wilson.
