The graduate entry exam will be administered during the first semester of the student in the program and is the same as the undergraduate exit exam. The faculty will review the student's GRE score included in the student's application to the graduate program.
EXIT: Graduate comprehensive written exam. The graduate comprehensive exam will be administered during the last semester of the student in the program and before the student's thesis/project defense.
(b) An in-depth knowledge in the areas related to mining engineering, particularly in the student's specialized field. ENTRY: Graduate entry exam or undergraduate exit exam. The graduate entry exam will be administered during the first semester of the student in the program and is the same as the undergraduate exit exam.
EXIT: Evaluation of the student's graduate course work and graduate comprehensive written exam. The graduate comprehensive written exam will be administered during the last semester of the student in the program and before the student's thesis/project defense.
(c) An ability to independently carry out a design or a research project. EXIT: Evaluation of the student's thesis or graduate project and graduate comprehensive written exam. The student's advisory committee will evaluate the student's thesis or graduate project.
(d) An ability to independently identify and solve engineering problems. EXIT: Evaluation of the student's thesis or graduate project and graduate comprehensive written exam. The student's advisory committee will evaluate the student's thesis or graduate project. The graduate comprehensive written exam will be administered during the last semester of the student in the program and before the student's thesis/project defense.
(e) Demonstrate leadership ability, effectiveness in team work and ability of interacting with the industry. EXIT: Evaluation of the student's performance in these areas during the student's tenure in the program. The faculty will evaluate the student's performance in these areas during the student's tenure in the program.
