John P. Zarling , Ph.D., P. E.


Curriculum Vita

Dr. Zarling joined the UAF Mechanical Engineering Department in 1976 and retired in 1997. Before joining UAF, he was a professor in Wisconsin. Professor Zarling has also been a consultant for a number of companies, including Alyeska, ARCO, and the CRREL. He holds Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics from Michigan Technological University in 1971; M. S. and B. S. in Mechanical Engineering also from Michigan Technological University in 1966 and 1964 respectively. Currently Professor Zarling teaches CE 603 Arctic Engineering, and the Cold Regions Engineering short course.
