Background and Research Interests:

Professor Witmer is a research professor in association with the University of Alaska Fairbanks Energy Center. The energy center is evaluating the use of Fuel Cells and other clean, efficient sources of power and heat, for Alaska's rural and bush communities. These energy sources could replace many diesel engines providing these services at a large cost, mixed reliability, and less than stellar environmental benefit.
