Background and Research Interests:

Current Research Activities:

Dr. Lin’s current research activities include clean diesel research and synthesis of mechanical systems. Clean diesel research studies the performance of a diesel generator, which includes emissions and energy balance for different fuels, exhaust and turbocharger air heat recovery, cylinder pressure recovery and performance monitoring using non-intrusive sensors. Synthesis of mechanical systems research includes the development of symbolic equations and the studies of number of solutions and number of degrees of complex mechanisms.
