Professor Goering joined the Mechanical Engineering Department in 1989. He received B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Physics, respectively, from the University of Washington in 1981; M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 1984; and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 1989
