Facilities
The Mechanical Engineering Department has a number of facilities available for use by students, staff, and faculty. If you need directions, please review the campus map.
The Duckering Building is the main building for the Mechanical Engineering Department. The main office is located on the third floor in room 337. Please stop in with any questions you might have. Facilities inside of the Duckering Building include:

The UAF Energy Center is researching possible use and application of Fuel Cells and alternative energy technologies. The Energy Center team is researching ways to reduce fuel usage as well as create systems that are environmentally friendly.
The Arctic Region Supercomputing Center is the largest computing facility in the state, and can be used to calculate and examine complex engineering problems.
1) Cameca SX-50 Electron Microprobe.
2) Kevex 7000 Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometer with IXRF computer system.
3) ISI-40 Scanning Electron Microscope with Kevex 7000 Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrometer with IXRF computer system for image and X-ray map acquisition.
4) Electroscan E2020 Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope.
5) Canberra Gamma Ray Spectrometer with well detector.
