Dragos Vas received his BA in Geography with a minor in Geology from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in the spring of 2007. Dragos began his college career in Romania studying Geography/ Cartography. He is now working on an Interdisciplinary Masters of Science at UAF.

Through an International Polar Year project, he is using remote sensing data to monitor methane gas released in Arctic lakes, while conducting intensive field studies and methane flux measurements.

His favorite thing about his work is that he is not trapped in a cubicle as he enjoys spending time outside skiing, ice/rock climbing, hiking and walking his dog.
