Laura Oxtoby received her BA in Biology with a minor in Environmental Studies from Carleton College in MN. She first fell in love with the Arctic while researching carbon cycling in northern-latitude wetlands for her senior thesis. Laura has been with the lab since August of 2008. Since her arrival, she has worked on a variety of tasks, including gas collection and chromatography, soil nutrient analysis, field logistics, and a study on methane emissions generated by hog farm waste. Though Laura misses Indian food and apple-picking, she is quite happy to be settled in Fairbanks.
