Each year roughly 20-25 undergraduate engineering students participate in INE reseach projects. Students spend from 10 to 20 hours a week working during the school year, or up to 40 hours a week in the summer.
Participating in these projects gives students "hands-on" experience in basic and applied research, both in the lab and in the field. It also gives students a chance to work with faculty outside the classroom.
How to apply
For jobs that are already advertised, go to UAKJOBS, log in, and check for positions listed under the Institute of Northern Engineering, or under an engineering department (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Geological, and Mining).
For questions about how to post a profile on UAKJOBS, contact INE Human Resources Office.
Rates of Pay are based on experience. Typically, student researchers start as a Student Assistant Level C.
