The Arctic Energy Technology Development Lab at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the U.S. Dept. of Energy's National Energy Technology Lab, and the School of Mineral Engineering(UAF), sponsored this two-day workshop. On the first day, participants heard from experts on a number of topics related to oil, natural gas, and coal. The keynote speaker was Robert Gentile, Former Assistant Secretary for Fossil Energy. The second day was devoted to individual road mapping sessions conducted by professional facilitators. These sessions were designed to identify current barriers to development, and research needs that could possibly be fulfilled by cooperation with the university. Participants included industry, academia, and research organizations. |
