"Managing the High Costs of Energy"

This conference, organized by AETDL, AEA, and the U.S. Department of Energy ~ NETL, presented the opportunity to share alternative energy information, strengthen networks throughout the Alaska energy community, and to discuss the Alaska Energy Plan. Active participation of rural energy managers, energy service & equipment providers, government agencies, national laboratories, technology developers, housing authorities, university researchers, students, and other interested parties, made for a highly successful event. This event was highly successful and we had over 360 registered attendees.

2005

This conference, organized by AETDL, AIDEA/AEA, and the Department of Energy, presented the opportunity to share alternative energy information, strengthen networks throughout the Alaska energy community, and to discuss the Alaska Energy Plan. Active participation of rural energy managers, energy service & equipment providers, government agencies, national laboratories, technology developers, housing authorities, university researchers, students, and other interested parties, made for a highly successful event. This event was highly successful and we had over 350 attendees.

Active participation of over 250 attendees, including rural leaders, rural & urban utilities, state & federal agencies, the University, and national labs, made for a highly successful event.

"Future of Fossil Energy in Alaska"
April 11-12, 2002
University of Alaska Fairbanks

The Arctic Energy Technology Development Lab at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the U.S. Dept. of Energy's National Energy Technology Lab, and the School of Mineral Engineering(UAF), sponsored this two-day workshop. On the first day, participants heard from experts on a number of topics related to oil, natural gas, and coal. The keynote speaker was Robert Gentile, Former Assistant Secretary for Fossil Energy. The second day was devoted to individual road mapping sessions conducted by professional facilitators. These sessions were designed to identify current barriers to development, and research needs that could possibly be fulfilled by cooperation with the university. Participants included industry, academia, and research organizations.
