Eva Stephani, undergraduate student in Geological Engineering was awarded the Olav Slaymaker Award for the best student poster in Geomorphology during the 34th annual conference of the Canadian Geophysical Union in May 2008, Banff, Canada, for her poster entitled Preservation of the Alaska Highway (Eva Stephani (Geological Engineering), Daniel Fortier (Institute of Northern Engineering), Robin Walsh (Yukon Government) and Yuri Shur (Civil Engineering).

This is a remarkable achievement because Eva was the only undergraduate student present at the conference still she won this award among the other Master degree students and Ph. D. candidates.
