- Remote Sensing Lab - The Department recently received a free copy of ERMapper and purchased a computer dedicated to run the software package.
- Subsurface Hydrology Lab
- Drilling Lab - The Department has a drill which is equipped for drillabilty testing and utilizes a data logger to record the weight-on-bit, RPM, torque, penetration rate of the drill bit. This system was used in conjunction with the Polar Ice Coring Office (PICO) to assess the possibility of retrieving rock core from beneath the Greenland ice sheet. PICO successfully retrieved rock core from a depth over 3,000 meters.
