What is Civil Engineering?
Civil Engineers are problem solvers who plan, design and supervise facilities essential to modern life such as the construction of bridges, airports, buildings, dams, arches, tunnels, highways, irrigation projects, treatment and distribution facilities for water and wastewater. Civil Engineers use sophisticated technology and employ computer-aided engineering during design, construction, project scheduling and cost control. The opportunity for creativity is unlimited. Civil Engineers often specialize in areas such as: structural, water resources, environmental, construction, transportation, materials, and geotechnical engineering.
