Strategic Direction Update
What’s next for Strategic Direction ?
The first phase of the University of Alaska Strategic Direction Initiative ended April 18 in Homer. We have conducted 80 listening sessions over the last six months. These sessions were directed toward Alaska’s community and business leaders, as well as students, alumni, staff and faculty throughout the University of Alaska System.
“Seeing that online classes are offered from each campus, do you have problems with Blackboard? If so, what suggestions could be made to improve the system”?
The above question is one of a list of questions that the Strategic Direction team asked students on UA campuses across the state. Recently, one UAA Kenai Peninsula College assistant professor was internationally recognized for her contribution to improving the system.
Susan Mircovich , Kenai River Campus assistant professor of chemistry, had her CHEM 103 online course selected as an exemplary course for the 2012 Blackboard Exemplary Course Program. Mircovich is the first UA faculty member to have a course selected for this international recognition. Click here to find out more about this great story.
If you haven’t had a chance to take part in a listening session, there is still time. Listening session questionnaires for the community, students, staff, faculty and alumni are all available online. All you have to do is click here ! Your comments are important to us. Be a part of the dialogue that’s happening throughout the University of Alaska System. Let us know what you would like to see in your University of Alaska and be a part of “Shaping Alaska’s Future 2017”!
