The next step is a meeting scheduled for July 23. Members of the Statewide Academic Council, chancellors, provosts, the president’s cabinet and Terry MacTaggart will begin the process of identifying the inputs and ideas that came from the listening sessions conducted. They will also provide their input into the Strategic Direction Initiative plan .

 

“Seeing that online classes are offered from each campus, do you have problems with Blackboard? If so, what suggestions could be made to improve the system”?

The above question is one of a list of questions that the Strategic Direction team asked students on UA campuses across the state. Recently, one UAA Kenai Peninsula College assistant professor was internationally recognized for her contribution to improving the system. 

Susan Mircovich , Kenai River Campus assistant professor of chemistry, had her CHEM 103 online course selected as an exemplary course for the 2012 Blackboard Exemplary Course Program. Mircovich is the first UA faculty member to have a course selected for this international recognition.  Click here to find out more about this great story.
