Last week the Strategic Direction team held internal stakeholder listening sessions at the UAF Kuskokwim Campus and at UAA Prince William Sound College. Here are some of the comments from those listening sessions:

·  As a member of adjunct faculty at Prince William Sound College, I would like a greater voice in the decisions that are made regarding adjunct faculty work and pay related issues.

·  One of the fastest growing costs for school is the cost of books. I understand that books are constantly being updated and revised, but why can’t we explore shifting toward downloadable books? The result would be better both environmentally and financially.

·  We value our students on the Kuskokwim Campus. Our goal is that they pursue their educations, but remember to come back to their communities with the educations they’ve earned. Our future nurses, teachers, and other educated professionals are key to positive growth in rural Alaska.

·  We need to find creative ways to minimize the costs for fees. Many of the fees we pay… we never use.

It’s easy to take our survey. All you have to do is click here , and be a part of “Shaping Alaska’s Future".
